Job Overview The Early Interventionist will deliver developmental support to children and their families within the Richland County area. This role focuses on working with children from birth to age three, promoting progress toward developmental milestones through individualized instruction and family-centered services. Responsibilities include conducting home visits, partnering closely with caregivers, and providing tailored guidance to foster healthy development and growth. Duties Conduct home visits to evaluate developmental needs and develop individualized family service plans (IFSPs). Partner with families to identify strengths and challenges, offering tools, strategies, and resources to support their child’s growth. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including healthcare providers, educators, and social workers—to ensure coordinated care. Provide direct, hands-on developmental support in home and community settings. Maintain accurate records of client progress, including data collection to assess intervention effectiveness. Educate families on available resources, developmental strategies, and coping techniques. Assist families in navigating the early intervention system and advocate on behalf of the child’s developmental needs. Stay up to date with best practices in early childhood development, behavioral health, special education, and family support services. Experience A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience supporting children with developmental delays, disabilities, or special needs. Solid understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate milestones. Self-motivated with strong time management skills; capable of independently managing a caseload. Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with families and interdisciplinary teams. Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to helping children and families thrive. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout Richland County. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following ethical standards in all interactions. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Family & Consumer Science, or any related field., At least 1 year of documented experience working with children birth to six years old., Prior early interventionist experience is required (to include experience with the RBI, CBA, and IFSP processes to name a few).
