Executive Functioning Coach & Reading Interventionist Thrive Tutoring Nashville, TN 37212 Executive Functioning Coach & Reading Interventionist – Nashville, TN Thrive Tutoring is looking for a passionate and skilled Executive Functioning Coach & Reading Interventionist to help middle school students in the Thompson’s Station, TN area thrive academically in both English and math, as well as grow in their executive functioning skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and be experienced in tailoring strategies to meet each student’s unique needs. This role demands a proactive, hands-on approach to fostering growth through personalized assistance in time management, organization, planning, and study skills. Many of our students also have diagnoses of dyslexia, dysgraphia, or other reading/writing based learning differences.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students’ current levels of performance to identify their needs and establish starting points. Teach essential strategies to help students develop skills in time management, planning, organization, overcoming procrastination, and advanced study techniques. Collaborate with students to create personalized weekly plans, modeling best practices and gradually transferring responsibility to the student for leading their learning. Travel to students’ homes or designated tutoring locations as needed for in-person sessions (Primary locations: Green Hills, Brentwood, Franklin, Arrington, College Grove, Nolensville, Nashville) Maintain consistent, professional communication with the Thrive team, students, and families. Work with the Thrive team and families to schedule tutoring sessions and develop tailored, detailed learning plans. Establish open communication with caregivers and students’ teachers to share progress and gain additional insights into students’ needs. Analyze assessment results and adapt teaching strategies accordingly. Provide regular feedback to parents/guardians and students, including post-session notes after each tutoring session. Commit to working with your student(s) from the start of the school year through at least the end of May 2025, ideally even through the summer or through next school year.
Qualifications:
At least two years of experience working successfully as a special educator Strong understanding and experience supporting students in developing their executive functioning skills. Proven track record of achieving measurable results with students. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong rapport and relationships with students, families, and educators. Bachelor’s degree in special education, psychology, or a related field.
