Job Summary:
We are seeking detail-oriented and service-driven Managed Care Specialists to support TennCare’s Member Services team. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to help manage eligibility assessments, client communications, documentation, and legal case support. Candidates must be local to Middle Tennessee and willing to commute to the downtown Nashville office as needed. This is a hybrid position with a combination of in-office and remote work. A rigorous training program (up to 6 weeks, virtual and/or onsite) is mandatory. No preplanned time off will be allowed during training.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and determine individual and family eligibility for managed care programs. Conduct client interviews and gather detailed case information to assist in legal analysis and recommendations. Coordinate internal and external client schedules and communications. Manage case documentation, resolution tracking, and timely data entry across systems. Draft legal documents, perform legal research, and analyze legal case materials. Work across multiple systems and databases to extract and compile relevant information. Participate in meetings, take notes, and contribute to ongoing workgroup initiatives. Support leadership team activities and provide ad hoc administrative assistance as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree required (Paralegal studies preferred). Previous experience in legal, casework, customer service, or call center settings is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines with minimal supervision. Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to manage email workflows, notes, documentation, and follow-ups accurately.
Additional Information:
Must be a Middle Tennessee resident able to commute to the Nashville office. Hybrid schedule varies based on department and supervisor needs. Training is mandatory for the full duration (virtual/in-office as required). The role may offer extension beyond the initial 12-month contract based on performance and business needs.
