Home and Community-Based Early Intervention Early Intervention Specialist Job Type:
Part-time; in home family support Job Description The part time Early Intervention (EI) Specialist will provide regular in home and/or community based educational services to children birth to three years who have developmental delays or disabilities and provide support for their families as outlined on the family’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). The EI will provide services during regular business hours (8:00-4:30) varying from 20 – 30 hours weekly based on caseload and referral necessity. The EI will work collaboratively with other professionals (e.g., service coordinators, therapists, interpreters, etc.) to support these children and their families by participating in IFSP meetings, completing visits together; exchanging information about strategies for helping families achieve child and family goals; maintaining accurate and up to date documentation as required by the program and by the state funding agency and performing other related tasks or special projects as assigned.

edu/hrs/ Major job responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of 20-25 children/familis to ensure the successful, consistent delivery of services as specified by the child’s IFSP. Maintain children’s records in accordance with all laws, regulations, and agency guidelines. Make timely service log and contact log entries in Tennessee’s Early Intervention Database (TEIDS) in accordance with current state and agency guidelines. Maintain timely and professional verbal and written communication with parents, caregivers, and other professionals. Acquire and demonstrate an ongoing functional knowledge of each child’s diagnosis, medications, best-practice intervention techniques, and adaptive equipment. Develop and maintain relationships with other children’s service programs, therapists, school systems, funding agencies, and professional organizations. Participate in agency-wide meetings, staff meetings, and parent meetings, as needed. Participate in internal and external in-service training, maintaining a minimum of 15 in-service hours per fiscal year, including Infant/Child CPR and First aid Certifications and other required training as stated by TEIS. Ensure that the Early Learning Program equipment is maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition.
Salary:
$19.00 per hour paid one time a month on last day of the month; travel mileage reimbursed at rate defined by the University;

Mileage Reimbursement Education:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in education, special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, communication disorders or speech language pathology and or related field (Required) If degree is in a related field, one year experience working with children with disabilities 0-5 years of age and their families is required. (i.e., social work, nursing, psychology, education administration)
Experience and Skills:

License/Certification:

Work Location:
This position works from home. This position involves working in various environments, including client homes, early intervention centers, and community settings. All technology equipment and office supplies needed to work from home are provided. Home visits are completed throughout Rutherford County (LaVergne, Smyrna, Murfreesboro).
