OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE
- The Co-Teacher will be responsible for the general supervision of agroup of 8 infants and toddlers aged six weeks to three years and thedelivery of comprehensive Early Head Start services. The Co-Teacher willassume the duties of the center manager at times when the manager isabsent.

ACTIVITIES
- Primary caregiver for no more than four infantsand toddlers, or 5 two-year-olds in a 2 year old class.
Plans,supervises, and implements the program in accordance with policies andphilosophy. Implements the chosen curriculum to fidelity. Creates lessonplans that reflect childrens individual needs, including those withdisabilities and chronic health conditions. Screens children fordevelopmental, physical, and social-emotional concerns and engages in anongoing assessment process for children in support of the developmentand school readiness. Seeks parent input and insight into their childsdevelopment and engages in planning for individualized services.\Create and maintain an atmosphere in which children and their parentsfeel welcome, valued, comfortable, and secure. Ensure physical,environment is clean, safe, and inviting; is stimulating and conduciveto learning; is respectful of the childrens cultures and ethnicdiversity and reflects the needs of the children served; and that spacein the classroom is well organized into easily recognizable functionalareas. Adhere to all regulations regarding safety, evacuationprocedures, fire drill, etc. Must be knowledgeable of the Vermont Div.of Child Care Licensing stand rds and regulations. Must ensure thatchildren are supervised at all times.

MAINTENANCE
- Assist with the orderly arrangement and generalappearance of the center including, but not limited to, maintainingsupplies and materials, monitoring equipment, cleaning up at mealtimeand playtime.

RECORD KEEPING:
- Monitors and supervises each childs progress throughindividual assessments and record keeping. Oversees childrens dailyrecords and ensures that reports are sent home daily.

PARENT CONTACT:
- Conducts two parent conferences and two home visitsannually to discuss childrens progress.
Honors other parental requestsfor conferences. Works with parents to create home learning activitiesthat support the childs school readiness and promote parents as theirchilds first teacher. Contributes program information for the parentnewsletter. Assists the center manager wi
