Position Overview This remote special education teaching position offers 36 hours per week of virtual instruction, serving students in grades K-8 with diverse learning needs. You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 45-50 students, providing individualized support through our comprehensive online learning management system. Our virtual classroom environment is designed to maximize student engagement and learning outcomes. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for assigned students Deliver engaging virtual special education instruction across multiple grade levels Monitor student progress through data collection and regular assessments Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and support staff Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state regulations Adapt curriculum materials for diverse learning styles and abilities Provide crisis intervention and behavioral support as needed Student Population Focus You’ll work with students requiring support in areas including: Learning disabilities and cognitive impairments Autism spectrum disorders Emotional and behavioral challenges Developmental delays Multiple disabilities requiring comprehensive support Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Special Education or related field Valid Vermont special education teaching license Minimum 2 years of school-based teaching experience Experience with virtual learning platforms preferred Strong technology skills and reliable internet connection Excellent communication and organizational abilities Commitment to student-centered instruction and inclusive practices Virtual Teaching Environment Our remote platform provides all necessary tools for effective online instruction, including interactive whiteboards, video conferencing capabilities, and specialized software for special education documentation.
