Point of Care Specialist Rutland-VT-05701-United States ThePoint of Care (POC) Specialist is responsible for the coordinationof Point of Care testing. This supporting role crosses multiplehospital and clinic locations. The Point of Care Specialistprovides technical resources and daily direction to Clinical andNon-Clinical staff in regard to Point of Care policies andprocedures and regulatory requirements. The Point of CareSpecialist assures quality testing and accurate test performancethrough operator training, competency assessment, equipmentmonitoring, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, qualitycontrol review, and proficiency testing. Minimum Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a Clinical Laboratory Science, MedicalTechnology or related laboratory science field. Minimum WorkExperience
• 3 years in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Experiencein POC program/techniques preferred. RequiredLicenses/Certifications

• ASCP, NCA, NALCP

  Certification orequivalent. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

• Demonstrated strong analytical skills and problems solving skills
• Detail oriented.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory theory andtechniques.
• Knowledge in the areas of quality improvement,quality control, equipment maintenance and laboratory required.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills.
• Customer service and delivery ofhigh-quality services knowledge.
