Position Details This full-time remote special education role involves 37.5 hours weekly, focusing on students in grades 3-12 with varied exceptionalities. Your caseload will include approximately 40-45 students, allowing for meaningful individualized attention. Our state-of-the-art virtual learning platform supports comprehensive special education service delivery. Core Teaching Responsibilities Create and modify IEPs based on comprehensive student assessments Implement evidence-based instructional strategies in virtual settings Conduct regular progress monitoring and adjust interventions accordingly Facilitate virtual IEP meetings with families and educational teams Provide direct instruction in academic and life skills areas Support students’ social-emotional development through virtual counseling Collaborate with related service providers and general education staff Specialized Support Areas Students in your caseload may require assistance with: Specific learning disabilities in reading, writing, or mathematics Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) Intellectual disabilities and adaptive behavior challenges Speech and language processing difficulties Sensory processing and physical disabilities Transition planning for post-secondary goals Essential Requirements Master’s degree in Special Education, Disability Studies, or closely related field Current Vermont special education teaching certification Minimum 2 years of documented classroom experience Demonstrated proficiency with educational technology platforms Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships Flexibility to adapt teaching methods for virtual delivery Professional Development Support We provide ongoing professional development opportunities including virtual conferences, specialized training modules, and mentorship programs.
