Permanent Substitute Teacher 2.6 2.6 out of 5 stars 2043 Forest Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204 Jacksonville Classical Academy is currently hiring a Permanent Substitute Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year to join our team who has a passion for classical education. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with children and knowledge of classical education. Successful candidates are detail oriented, have excellent organizational and communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills to interact with students, parents, faculty, and administrators. Overall Responsibilities The Permanent Substitute Teacher will use effective classroom management techniques to assist the teacher in maintaining an organized learning environment. He or she will assist with the daily lessons. Leadership Maintain a high personal standard consistent with the school’s Core Virtues, vision, mission and motto. Support the vision, policies, financial objectives and directives of the governing board. Support a positive school culture based on mutual respect and shared expectations. Regularly meet with the board chairman, Head of School, and Operations Manager to coordinate school activities and discuss outcomes and issues to ensure the long-term school success. Be willing to assist others as needed. Qualifications The minimum educational requirement for this job is a high school degree. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other industry-specific technology. The ability to communicate effectively and problem solve in a fast-paced environment is critical to the success in this position. Knowledge of classical teaching methods is preferred.
