Substitute teaching is a great opportunity to be a mentor, get on the job training for those interested in pursuing a career in education, and are essential to ensuring students continue to learn and grow. Duties of this job include, but are not limited to: Develops & implements lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student; Uses a variety of instructional strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, etc.; Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction; Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom; Evaluates students’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports; Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and interpret the school program; Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems; Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers; Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by professional growth activities; Participates cooperatively with the Head of School, Executive Director, and the Principal; Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids; maintains required inventory records; Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the school day; Administers tests by school standards; Participates in curriculum development programs as required; Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.

Reports to:

Principal Executive Director Location You must currently live in Volusia, Lake, Seminole, or Orange County in Florida. Work Hours Monday-Thursday from 7:15 a.m.

• 3:00 p.m., and Friday 7:15 a.m.
• 2:30 p.m. Compensation Pay range $15.00
• 19.00/hour Pay is semi-monthly Eligibility Requirements
• Bachelors Degree You must be able to pass a Florida and Federal Criminal Records (Level II) Background Check.
• If you do not meet the above eligibility requirements, your application will be rejected.
