Below is the position overview, apply today to see what impact you can make! Job Summary We are seeking dedicated and passionate Substitute Teachers to join our educational team. As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment for students when their regular teacher is unavailable. You will be responsible for delivering lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring that students continue to engage with their education effectively. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to various classroom settings. Responsibilities Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction. Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a respectful and productive learning environment. Communicate clearly with students, providing guidance and support as needed. Engage students in learning activities that promote critical thinking and creativity. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to assist in their educational development. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and any incidents that occur during class. Collaborate with school staff to support the overall educational mission of the institution. Experience Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Familiarity with mentoring techniques and early childhood education principles is a plus. Knowledge of behavior management strategies and childhood development practices is essential. Experience in specialized education areas such as Deaf education or Montessori methods is advantageous but not required. Strong communication skills are necessary for effectively interacting with students, staff, and parents. A commitment to educating diverse learners and adapting teaching methods to meet individual student needs is crucial.

Requirements GACE Paraprofessional Assessment :

Pass the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent. This assessment evaluates knowledge in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as the ability to assist in classroom instruction. The paraprofessional certificate is valid for five years and is non-renewable. To maintain employment, paraprofessionals must meet renewal requirements as outlined by the GaPSC.
