Welcome to MSAD 75! Serving Maine’s Midcoast communities of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham, MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.
Maine School Administrative District 75 (MSAD 75) is seeking a dedicated Long-term Substitute Science Teacher at Mt. Ararat High School to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.
DATES:
August, 2025 through Mid-February, 2026
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
Instruct secondary science courses, especially including 9th physical science class.
Develop and provide instruction in earth and space science concepts such as formation of the universe, plate tectonics, and climate and environmental impacts.
Collaborate with Mt. Ararat staff to implement existing curriculum in assigned courses.
Maintain and develop assessments to support students in demonstrating rigorous content knowledge within math.
Collaborate with colleagues, the department leader, school administrators and RtI specialists to ensure students receive adequate support.
Manage classroom behavior and support learning for students of varying age ranges and backgrounds.
Provide meaningful communication with families in support of student learning.
Participate in professional work associated with curriculum development, planning, and assessment.
Support and participate in non-instructional duties and other responsibilities, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or science-related field.
Maine Department of Education Teacher Certification in Science (6-12): 350 Physical Science and/or 395 Life Science.
Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) Demonstrated success in previous teaching experience.
Knowledge of Next Generation Science Standards
Knowledge of/experience with: best practices in science instruction, curriculum planning, and assessment.
