Preferred certification:
Substitute Teacher Certification or Elementary Ed Certification Approximate dates of assignment: September 3 – December 5, 2025 • Long-term Substitute Teacher pay: The first 5 days pay is $143.70 a day or $19.16 an hour. On the 6th day, pay increases to $23.96 an hour ($179.70 a day). This does not include the 3 days of training before the long-term position starts. (A full day for a Substitute Teacher is 7.5 hours a day. If a Substitute Teacher works 6.5 hours a day they are paid the full $143.70. If a Substitute works less than 6.5 hours a day, they are paid hourly.)
• Retired Teacher Substitute pay is $195.00 a day or $26.00 an hour. A full day for a Substitute Teacher is 7.5 hours a day. If a Retired Teacher serving as a Substitute Teacher works 6.5 hours a day they are paid the full $195.00. If a Substitute works less than 6.5 hours a day, they are paid hourly.
