Temporary Lower School Classroom Teacher The Opportunity:

Carolina Friends School (CFS) seeks a long-term substitute teacher for a combined 1st and 2nd-grade classroom. This is a full-time position, planned for October 2025 – April 2026. The teacher will join a Lower School staff of skilled and dedicated teachers committed to the growth of the whole child, continually developing a student-centered, mission-driven curriculum. As a member of a classroom team of three teachers, this teacher will be responsible for teaching primarily to a small group of about 10 children, focusing on reading, writing, and mathematics, and will also teach whole-class lessons in other subject areas. This teacher will co-plan and deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum, maintain close communication with parents, and write progress reports and narrative assessments of students. Traits and Requirements:
