Summit School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated elementary teacher who is interested in substituting for one of our faculty who is taking maternity leave.
Position Overview:
We are looking to appoint a long-term substitute teacher as a 5th Grade Lead Teacher for the period between September 2025 and January 2026. As a lead teacher the successful applicant will have day-to-day responsibility for one of our three 5th Grade classes. Our Fifth Grade program is modular and this position is for teaching mathematics. In addition, the substitute will be responsible for the general welling and development of the class group of students, and some teaching of Social Studies and Science to their class. The substitute will be joining a well-established program. There is time every day for collaborative planning and we would support the substitute in spending time with the class before the maternity leave begins to become familiar with our school culture, community and systems.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field. Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of pedagogical approaches, including technology to enhance and extend learning. A demonstrated ability in teaching mathematics and a passion for the subject is an advantage. Experience in developing and delivering engaging and interactive lessons. Strong communication skills.
