Job Summary:

Carter G. Woodson School is seeking highly motivated and innovative middle school teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Educators must be dedicated to academic excellence, student engagement, and personal development in grades 6-8.

Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver rigorous curriculum-based instruction in core subjects (ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies). Use active learning strategies to promote critical thinking and problem-solving. Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments to drive instruction. Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment. Provide guidance and mentorship to students as they navigate adolescence and academic expectations. Engage in school-wide initiatives, staff training, and professional development starting August 1, 2025.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or subject-specific field. NC teaching license is highly recommended, but not required. Strong classroom leadership and student engagement skills. Passion for student achievement and academic success.
