Guest Educator Little Learners Academy, LLC 615 West Elizabeth Street, Elizabeth City, NC 27909 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. This role is essential in providing continuity of learning for students in the absence of their regular classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education, possess strong classroom management skills, and have the ability to engage students in a variety of subjects and activities. Responsibilities Deliver lesson plans provided by the regular teacher and ensure that students understand the material. Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment conducive to learning. Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain student behavior. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding student progress and classroom activities. Supervise students during class activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the varying needs of students. Provide support for students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or other developmental challenges. Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages student participation and engagement. Skills Strong classroom management abilities to maintain order and facilitate learning. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Experience working with children in various educational settings, including childcare or tutoring roles. Knowledge of childhood development principles to support age-appropriate learning strategies. Familiarity with Montessori methods or similar educational philosophies is a plus. Ability to work effectively with students who have special needs or require additional support. A genuine passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically and socially.
