Substitute Teacher Position Available In Bronx, New York

Substitute Teacher 2.0 2.0 out of 5 stars 5959 Broadway, Bronx, NY 10463 The Substitute Teacher supports instruction in the absence of the lead teacher. The Substitute will facilitate the lesson developed by the lead teacher and distribute/collect and evaluate student materials. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining an appropriate educational environment using strong classroom management of student behaviors and noise levels. The Substitute Teacher is expected to support school systems and procedures and maintain a record of attendance. The Substitute Teacher will be scheduled to work every day but be assigned to classes on an as-needed basis. Qualifications Relevant teaching, facilitating or counseling experience in a school or camp setting. Desire to pursue a career in the education field Successful experience working with Atmosphere’s student population, including diverse student groupings that may include a range of ELL students, special education students, general education students, and gifted students Dynamic teacher persona that engages students and seamlessly manages the classroom Strong interpersonal skills and track record of collaborating with diverse stakeholders Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Relentless determination to do whatever it takes to help Atmosphere students succeed Proactive and creative problem-solver Values input and feedback Team-player capable of working both collaboratively and independently Strong recommendations from prior employers, colleagues, or employees Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred NYS certification in field preferred
