Paché Montessori, located in the thriving heart of Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, is seeking dedicated and adaptable educators to join our on-call substitute team to support our staff. About Paché Montessori Our school provides an authentic Montessori experience for children aged 3 months to 6 years in a 25,000-square-foot facility equipped with a rooftop playground, indoor climbing wall, and outdoor terrace. We are deeply committed to the Montessori method, encouraging a nurturing environment that fosters independence and lifelong learning. Job Role As an On-Call Substitute Teacher, you will provide critical support by stepping into various classroom roles during both planned and unplanned teacher absences. This role demands flexibility and the ability to quickly adapt to the unique needs of each class, ensuring continuity and stability in our educational environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Able to provide coverage during teacher absences
• Provide nurturing care to students
• Follow school policies and procedures
• Manage classroom behavior and create a conducive learning atmosphere
• Uphold Paché Montessori’s standards for safety and excellence in education

Qualifications:

• Positive demeanor and excellent communication skills
• Prior experience caring for young children
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to pass a screening clearance for criminal convictions and the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR)
• Willingness to complete mandatory trainings
• Ability to provide classroom coverage on short notice Highly valued:
• Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related fields
• Previous experience with Montessori education methods
• Previous classroom experience
• Experience with children from 3 months old through 6 years old
• Native Spanish speaking ability for students in our Spanish immersion program As a Substitute Teacher, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in various educational settings while positively impacting students’ lives.
