Schedule:

Hourly, primarily 12 PM-6 PM (Monday-Friday)

Compensation:

$17/hour | No PTO (hourly position)

We’re seeking a compassionate, dependable Substitute Teacher / Floater to ensure seamless and enriched experiences in our classrooms. You’ll step in when primary teachers are out or need a break, keeping the day flowing with care, respect, and collaborative spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

Child & Classroom Support Act as a kind, attentive presence in any of our three classroom environments or outdoor spaces Support daily routines: toileting, transitions, lunch, nap, cleanup, and closing Offer gentle guidance and help children sustain independence and dignity Monitor children’s well-being, and communicate developments to teaching staff

Team & Environment Collaboration:

Assist classroom teams in maintaining a coherent, harmonious environment aligned with Montessori culture Observe and record behavioral or developmental notes, ensuring continuity and collective awareness Help prepare, stock, and tidy classroom materials and consumables Notify team members of any maintenance, repairs, or material needs

Community Participation:

Attend occasional school-wide events, such as open houses, family picnics, or celebrations Engage respectfully with families, sharing essentials or directing them to staff when appropriate

Qualifications & Requirements:

Prior experience with children ages 3-6 in school, child care, camp, or similar settings Deep respect for Montessori pedagogy, anti-bias education, and neurodivergent-affirming approaches Reliable, punctual, and flexible with daily schedules and coverage needs Skilled in clear, compassionate communication with adults and children Physical readiness to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and engage indoors and outdoors CPR/First‑Aid certification or commitment to obtain Clear state-required background/fingerprint checks Preferred, but not required: Montessori training or interest in pursuing Montessori teaching credentials.
