Our substitutes work throughout Montgomery County in our Early Childhood and Student Services Special Education Classes. Due to the unique needs of our classrooms, certified educators will initially be placed in Substitute Teacher Assistant assignments. This allows us to assess placement and ensure the best fit before assigning them to any Substitute Teacher roles. We appreciate your flexibility and commitment to our students!

MCIU provides programs and services to early learners and students with disabilities ages 3 to 21 through a variety of federal, state, and local partnerships. As a substitute with MCIU, you will gain invaluable experience working within a classroom and enriching the lives of our students.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required
Special Education N-12 (new cert Special Education PK-8) preferred; Valid PA Teaching Certification (any concentration) required
Daily Rate:
Day-to-Day Certified Substitute Teacher
- (1 to 20 Days) $160/day
- Day-to-Day Certified Substitute Teacher
- (Over 20 days) $210/day
- Includes Head Start & Pre-K Counts teachers
- MCIU Retiree Certified Substitute Teachers will receive $20 additional per day

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit has classrooms located throughout Montgomery County, PA.
