The Substitute position serves to fill in regularly for teacher and paraprofessional/aide absences.
Teacher Substitutes are responsible for ensuring proper classroom management while following the current lesson plans and curriculum in the assigned classroom.
Paraprofessional/Aide Substitutes are responsible for assisting students under the direction of the classroom teacher as needed.

Qualifications:

• College degree preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• All applicants must be US citizens or have a Work Visa or Work Permit.
• Prior experience working with students in a classroom
• Good verbal and writtenmunication skills
• Ability and willingness to work well with others required
• Ability to be flexible and adjust to new environments required
• Strong classroom management skills required
• Current S.

C. teaching certificate required for long term substitute teaching positions; if holding an active certificiate you will be hired as a certified sub.

Responsibilities:

• Provides classroom instruction to students as assigned in lesson plans.
• Take attendance and document daily notes.
• Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Remain in classroom and monitor students at all times
• Maintains discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive learning environment for all students and staff in accordance with school district policies.
• Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
• Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.
• Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
