Substitute Teacher K-12 V.V.Reid School 612 Gabriel St, Columbia, SC 29203 Overview We are seeking dedicated and passionate Substitute Teachers to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to receive quality education in the absence of their regular teacher. This position requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a classroom effectively. Responsibilities Deliver lesson plans provided by the regular teacher and ensure that students remain engaged and focused. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a respectful learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities. Assist in implementing lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs, including those of students with autism or special education requirements. Support students’ emotional and educational development through effective behavior management strategies. Provide tutoring as needed to reinforce learning objectives. Participate in curriculum development efforts as required. Experience Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred. Strong classroom management skills to maintain order and foster a productive learning atmosphere. Knowledge of childhood development principles and effective teaching strategies. Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development is a plus. Familiarity with special education practices and techniques for working with children with autism is advantageous. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Hours 7:30 -4:30 pm. Lesson plan supplied .
