Position Overview:

The After Care Assistant at Davidson Academy is responsible forproviding continuous supervision for Davidson Academy’s students.

The After Care Assistant upholds Davidson Academy’s Christianvalues and educational standards while ensuring a productive andpositive environment for students.

Responsibilities:

Arrive at the school promptly and prepared to teach assignedclasses according to the provided lesson plans and instructionsfrom the regular teacher. Deliver instructional content, assignments, and activities asoutlined in the lesson plans, adapting as necessary to meet theneeds of diverse learners. Maintain classroom discipline by upholding the school’s code ofconduct and implementing effective classroom managementstrategies. Foster a nurturing and Christ-centered learning environmentthat encourages student participation and spiritual growth. Supervise students during class time, transitions, and assignedduties (e.g., recess, lunch monitoring). Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments,and any relevant observations or incidents during the day. Protect the safety and well-being of students at all times,following school procedures and protocols. Treat all students with respect, fairness, and in a mannerconsistent with Christian principles. Maintain confidentiality regarding student information andclassroom matters. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.

Requirements Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education or arelated field (preferred). Valid teaching certification or license (preferred, but notalways required for substitute positions). Experience working with children or in an educationalsetting. Familiarity with Christian values and a commitment to upholdingthe school’s religious principles. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintaina positive learning environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills wheninteracting with students, parents, and staff. Flexibility and adaptability to handle various grade levels andsubject areas. Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine desire to support studentlearning and growth.

Additional Requirements:

Successful completion of background checks and any requiredtraining or certifications. Adherence to the school’s policies, procedures, and code ofconduct. Availability to work on short notice and for varying lengths ofassignments.
