As-needed Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible, flexible, and engaging Substitute Teacher to provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. The ideal candidate will be able to follow lesson plans, maintain a positive learning environment, and support students’ academic and behavioral needs across grade levels K-5.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher. Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Deliver instruction in core subjects such as reading, math, science, and social studies. Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ diverse learning needs. Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and during transitions. Report any incidents, student concerns, or deviations from the lesson plan to school administration. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (preferred). Experience working with children or in a school setting is a plus. Strong communication, classroom management, and organizational skills. Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and grade levels.
Work Conditions:
On-call position; daily assignments may vary. May be called for short-notice assignments. Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
