Position Summary
The Assistant to Student Support Services is responsible for accurately record participant data, verify financial aid information, maintain current participant files, track workshop and participation, and serve as the initial contact person for new students and visitors to Student Support Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Initiate the intake process for potential SSS participants Greet visitors, make appropriate referrals, and receive iing phone calls Assist with the identification and verification of new participants
Maintain the Project calendar and assist in the planning of workshops and events
Maintain and update participant files
Prepare correspondences, mail service, order supplies
Enter data and participant information in the SSS database
Generate reports as needed from the SSS database
Assist in maintaining Project inventory
Assist the Director with the Annual Performance Assist with the awarding of Grant Aid
Assist in tracking graduates through transfer
Represent the SSS Project at State, Regional and National professional meetings
Serve as a liaison on Collegemittees affecting policies pertaining to SSS participants
Complete accurate monthly Time and Effort reports
Assist manager with onboarding part time tutors and creating schedules
Work closely with the manager to carry forward Project goals and objectives
Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year (32 semester hours) of postsecondary education in related coursework from a regionally accredited institution, required.
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution, preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience with word processing, database management, andputer programs, required.
Kledge of socioeconomic and educational conditions of target area and schools, preferred.
Background similar to the target population, preferred.

SALARY:

Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Community College System’s Salary Schedule E3-4 ($39,759 – $57,251). Northwest Shoals Community College is an equal opportunity employer.
