As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you’ll workclosely with licensed teachers to support K-12 students withspecial needs in the classroom. Your role will focus on helpingstudents succeed academically, socially, and emotionally byproviding one-on-one and small group assistance tailored to theirIEP goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed staff in theclassroom by helping implement academic adaptations andindividualized education plans (IEPs)
- Work with studentsindividually or in small groups to support their self-care andsocial/behavioral needs
- Maintain a classroom environment that issafe and conducive to learning
- Provide timely support forstudents in crisis situations
- Utilize a variety of learningmethods to enhance student engagement and learningoutcomes.
Must-Have QualificationsEducation
- 60 college credits orhigher, OR one of the following
- A passing score on theParaeducator Assessment (65% or higher on the Instructional Supporttest and 70% or higher on the Knowledge and Application test
- Apassing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment (combined score of460 or above)Language & Authorization
- Professional proficiency inEnglish
- U.S. Work Authorization (Zen Educate cannot providesponsorship for an employment visa or relocationassistance).Experience
- Prior experience working with children ina structured setting is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- ParaProCertification (upskilling options provided on a case-by-case basisfor candidates without the standard educational background
- Behavioral Technician or PCA experience working with children is anasset
- Past work experience in a school setting with children withspecial needs is an asset.
Compensation & BenefitsPay:
$18
- $21 perhour, paid weekly.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, within hours of 7:30am
