Child Nutrition Program Manager/Principal Child Nutrition Program Director
JOB GOAL
Assists the manager in the planning and implementation of the food service operation, serving in a school with participation of at least five hundred Essential functions: Practices and maintains sanitation standards among personnel in food preparation, food service and departmental maintenance. Follows procedures to uphold safety standards and oversees the safe use and maintenance of equipment Supervises the preparation of food within an established production system following standardized recipes, preparation and service methods and food handling techniques to insure acceptable standards. Supervises the service of food to students and staff to promote client satisfaction. Assists the Child Nutrition Program Manager in promoting special activities. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of required department records, i.e. inventory, cost, and menu records. Assists the manager in supervising food service employees through activities which include, but are not limited to, food production schedules, and plans for staff work assignments. Assists in planning the appropriate menus and adjusts the leftovers, nutritionally equivalent substitutes and emergencies. Assists in establishing and maintaining procedures to insure adequate nutritional care and may assume the responsibility for daily menu work sheet. Supervises the system to check, inspect and store all incoming food and supplies. Attends relevant training classes and workshops for professional improvement. Promotes and maintains effective communication between staff, management and administration. Promotes effective public relations.
EVALUATION
Job performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education’s policy on Evaluation of School Support Personnel.
