Job Description
POSITION TITLE
Grades 9-12 Alternative Learning Paraprofessional
FLSA:
Non-exempt
REPORTS TO
ALE Principal/ALE Instructor
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma
At least one (1) of the following:
o Two (2) years of college credit
o An Associate’s Degree or higher
o Evidence of passing the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted
Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
Desire to support students’ social/emotional/behavioral success through evidence based practices at school
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
185-day contract with benefits according to Siloam Springs School
District Board Policies
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Work under the direction of the alternative learning principal to provide the following:
Behavioral support for students who may be aggressive or disruptive
Social/Emotional/Behavioral support that assist students in achieving curricular standards and goals
Collaborative responsibility with alternative education staff for student success
Administrative Assistant support as needed
Classroom support as needed
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain confidentiality
Present and communicate in a professional manner
Other duties as assigned by administration and alternative learning classroom teacher
