School Year Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Paraprofessional to join our educational team in Bristol. As a paraprofessional, you will work under the supervision of certified teachers and school staff to support students in their academic, behavioral, and social development. This is a full-time position based in a public/charter/private school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation, materials, and classroom management. Provide one-on-one or small group instructional support to students, including those with special needs. Support students engagement, behavior, and participation in classroom activities. Monitor students in various settings including classrooms, lunchrooms, playgrounds, and on field trips. Document and report student progress and behavior to supervising teachers and administrators. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and behavior plans as needed. Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, staff, and parents when appropriate. Attend and participate in professional development sessions and staff meetings.

Qualifications:
Required:

High school diploma or GED. Experience working with children in an educational or related setting. Ability to pass required background checks (e.g., FBI, child abuse clearance, criminal history).

Preferred:

Associates degree or at least two years of college (60+ credits). Paraprofessional certification or willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe. Experience supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a student-centered mindset. Ability to follow directions and collaborate with teachers and school staff. Basic proficiency with educational technology and tools (Google Classroom, etc.). Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday 7:30 AM 3:30 PM (varies slightly by school)
