This role involves supervision, creating a positive environment, and assisting with various tasks like meal preparation, hygiene, and transportation.
This position involves working closely with children in various settings to foster a safe, engaging, and educational environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young people and a strong understanding of childhood development principles. Duties Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Attention to detail with overseeing all children in the home. Keep organized electronic records of completed Daily Notes, Goal Tracking Sheets, Monthly Summaries, and Quarterly Summaries for each client within the assigned caseload. Follow the policies, procedures, and rules of the organization. Supervise children during program activities to ensure their safety and well-being. Provide support in tutoring sessions, helping students with homework and academic challenges. Transporting youth to and from activities and other appointments. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their participation and engagement in activities. Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns. Collaborate with other staff members to create a nurturing environment that supports children’s needs. Document observations of children’s behavior and development for program evaluation purposes. Maintain high program standards. Other administrative duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Habit Requirements Experience in childcare, babysitting, or tutoring is highly desirable. Background in early childhood education or special education is a plus. Proven experience working with students or children in various capacities (e.g., daycare, after-school programs). Strong understanding of childhood development stages and appropriate interventions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. A genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of children and youth. High level of practical verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize. Ability to work independently and in team settings. Ability to promote the dignity and respect of those we serve. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite software. Proficient in operating essential office equipment such as copy machines, facsimiles, and computers. Providing supervision and monitoring through positive engagement with youth. Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the Group Home. Maintain positive interactions with clients, parents, guardians, co-workers, supervisors, and community members.
