STARTING SALARY
Based on classification and pay plan for Classified employees: Grade 18 $16.68 p/h (HS Diploma and ParaPro min score 457 or 60 hrs college credit in core curriculum) Grade 19 $17.06 p/h (AA / AS or higher) PARA I (GR 18)
EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXP. REQUIREMENTS
HS diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education or successful completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 457 or higher. Experience working w/children. Head Start Preschool asst teacher qualification requirements: As prescribed in section 648A(a)(2) (B)(ii) of the Act, a program must ensure Head Start Preschool asst teachers, at a minimum, have a CDA credential or a State-awarded cert that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential, are enrolled in a program that will lead to an AA or baccalaureate degree or, are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within 2 years of the time of hire.
