• to support our toddler classroom (ages 18 months to 3 years).

Position Summary:

The Assistant Toddler Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to support a Montessori-prepared environment. This individual will help guide toddlers through daily routines, ensure classroom safety and cleanliness, and model respectful communication and independence-building practices. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining an orderly, clean, and child-centered Montessori classroom
• Assist with daily routines such as toileting, feeding, dressing, and rest time
• Observe and redirect children gently and respectfully, in alignment with Montessori principles
• Engage with children in age-appropriate activities that support their social, emotional, and physical development
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment
• Communicate positively and professionally with parents and staff
• Help prepare and organize learning materials under the guidance of the Lead Teacher
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience in a toddler or early childhood classroom preferred
• Interest in Montessori education (provided through the job)
• Willingness to learn and follow the Montessori approach
• Ability to lift 40 lbs and actively participate in classroom activities
• CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• 45 hours DCF
• Warm, patient, and flexible demeanor
