Adult Day Training Program Aide/Advocate High 5 Inc. Brandon, FL 405 Beverly Boulevard, Brandon, FL 33511

Position Summary:

As a High 5 Adult Day Training (ADT) Program Aide/Advocate at High 5, Inc., work as part of an integral team to benefit the Transition program and the community. This role requires enthusiastic energy, customer service, creativity, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. A Program Aide/Advocate will work closely with clients to support them with thier learning under the guidance of the Program Instructor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations both organizationally and departmentally. Comply with all High 5, Inc. policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety and emergency procedures, requirements of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) and other regulatory agencies. Complete all pre-service and ongoing training requirements to include APD, First Aid, CPR, AED training, Fire Extinguisher as required or requested to maintain certification and compliance. Participate in training on client needs, training programs, and assisting instructors with data collection in accordance with APD reporting requirements. Provide one-on-one or small group support to clients as directed by the instructor in various skills and activities. Effectively communicate to Program Instructor any health and safety, client, or programmatic needs including all required supplies or equipment required to promote health and safety and implementation of training programs. Be on time and prepared for all daily and weekly duties. Work flexible hours and perform additional duties as requested or required to support and promote High 5’s ADT Program and the strategic vision of High 5, Inc. Work in a team environment to build and maintain healthy and cooperative relationships. Maintain a welcoming, caring, supportive and professional environment for all. Encourage clients to try their best. Empower clients to be flexible, responding to change and adapting to unexpected demands in classroom settings and surroundings. Provide a warm, encouraging environment for learning and growth, as well as providing excellent customer service to all families, clients, and co-workers. Assist in maintaining classrooms and learning spaces in a neat and orderly manner. Assist with the management of files and copies of correspondence, program information, rosters, handbooks, schedules, as relates to ADT and High 5. Additional duties as assigned by Program Instructor or Program Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check. Satisfactory drug screening. First Aid, CPR and AED certified, training can be provided by High 5, Inc. Microsoft office products experience. Valid driver’s license and successful completion of initial and periodic criminal background screening. Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment. Ability to communicate in a clear, effective manner both written and verbally. Must be culturally sensitive and able to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel and children. Must be reliable, punctual, flexible and a team player. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks assigned by Program Instructor or Program Supervisor.

Desired Qualifications:

A minimum of three years’ experience working in an educational program is highly preferred. APD required training (Preferred).
