The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the growth of our new school, and will be excited to support students with diverse learning needs, particularly those with learning differences such as autism, adhd, and related difficulties. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a collaborative learning environment and enhancing the educational experience for all students. We have small class sizes and we interview students prior to enrollment to make sure they will be a good fit for our multiage school house. The ideal candidate is flexible, passionate, patient, and wants to be a part of something really special as we provide more options to families in our area for educational excellence! Responsibilities Assist teacher in implementing lesson plans and adapting curriculum to meet the needs of individual students. Support classroom management by promoting positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies. Work closely with students to provide personalized support, ensuring they can participate fully in classroom activities. Collaborate with teachers in lesson planning and curriculum development, particularly within an experiential and hands-on approach to learning. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and behavior. Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a cohesive educational experience. Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Attend and chaperone weekly field trips with our neurodiverse learners and parent chaperones. Requirements Experience working with children, particularly those with learning disabilities. Strong skills in classroom management techniques for neurodiverse students. Willingness to assist in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to individual student needs. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
