Position Summary:

We are seeking a certified and student-centered Instructional Support Teacher•ESE to provide small-group academic and behavioral instruction to students with Section 504 Plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This is a non-classroom-based instructional position focused on ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, including IDEA and Section 504, and on promoting student growth through individualized support and collaboration with instructional staff. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and support personnel to implement accommodations, modifications, and targeted interventions that meet the unique needs of Students with Disabilities (SWD), in alignment with Florida’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted instruction to small groups of students based on goals outlined in IEPs. Developing and implementing IEPs involves identifying the student’s specific needs, setting goals, and outlining the strategies and accommodations needed to help them succeed. Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusive instructional practices and ensure fidelity of accommodations and modifications. Participate in eligibility and IEP meetings by providing data, input, and progress monitoring information. Assist in the development of student goals and implementation of individualized services and supports. Provide academic and behavioral interventions, aligned with MTSS frameworks. Support data collection, progress monitoring, and documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Maintain organized, confidential, and up-to-date student records using appropriate documentation systems. Communicate regularly with families, staff, and service providers regarding student needs and progress. Stay current on FLDOE updates, best practices in ESE instruction, and compliance procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited institution. Valid Florida Professional Educator’s Certificate with Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Certification (K-12). Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and MTSS requirements. Experience providing direct instruction to students with disabilities in an inclusive or resource setting. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and reporting student progress data.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Additional endorsements (e.g., Reading, ESOL, Autism Spectrum Disorder). Experience supporting students with behavioral needs or emotional disabilities. Familiarity with electronic IEP platforms (PEER) and data tracking systems.

This position does not serve as a full-time classroom teacher. The role is designed to support implementation and oversight of ESE services through small-group intervention and instructional consultation.
