Part-Time Floating Assistant Teacher Position Summary:

We are seeking a caring, dependable, and flexible Part-Time Floating Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood team. This individual will support classrooms serving children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age, stepping in where needed throughout the day to ensure a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist lead teachers with classroom supervision, daily routines, and activities across various age groups. Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment. Follow lesson plans and daily schedules provided by the lead teacher. Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap time, and outdoor activities. Communicate effectively with staff, children, and parents as needed. Step into different classrooms as assigned to maintain proper staff-to-child ratios. Participate in training and professional development as required.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with children in a group setting is preferred. Flexibility and willingness to work with all age groups (infants to school-age). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet throughout the day. DCF 45 hours completed or willingness to obtain upon hire (preferred but not required). CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to complete upon hire. Must pass background screening and meet all licensing requirements.

Part-time hours; schedule may vary based on center needs, but ideally will be M-F 12pm-6:30pm
