Job Description

Paraprofessional Part Time at Christian Holistic K-12 School 1.0 1.0 out of 5 stars Ocala, FL 34476 Paraprofessional position opening starting July 30, 2025 with our small faith based (Christian) holistic school and non profit organization located near SW 60th and 200 in Ocala. This position will be working with K-12 students in different classrooms as needed throughout the instructional day. Schedules are made based on the needs of our students, noting that this position is a maximum of 30 hours per week position, M-F 8am-1pm. We offer generous paid time off during the following dates : All major holidays, Thanksgiving week, Christmas break, Spring Break, holidays after the 90 day introductory period. Subject to change as needed to fulfill minimum instructional days due to weather, etc. Position ends on May 20, 2026 (end of the instructional year) with an option to receive an offer letter for employment during the month of June in our half day summer program Monday-Thursday.

MIN REQUIREMENTS

You must have a minimum of 45 college credit hours OR Successful completion of the paraprofessional test OR alternatively, at our discretion, 5 years experience in a paraprofessional position.

  • Working with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by teachers.
  • Supporting teachers in their development of special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on students’ needs, interests, and abilities.
  • Performing clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned by admin staff or teacher.
  • Performing assigned non-instructional classroom duties.
  • Planning for student activities (not lesson plans).
  • Assisting students in daily chores.
  • Substitute teaching or covering for staff members when needed.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude while on OASN property as an example to the students.
  • Maintaining an orderly and clean/disinfected classroom environment throughout the day and, especially, at the end of the instructional day. In addition, the Paraprofessional must:
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the academic environment and community.
  • Participate in all in-service training days (paid).
  • Maintain a safe working environment and encourages colleagues to be safety minded in the performance of all academic-related duties.
  • Be willing and cooperative when requested to perform other duties/assignments as directed by the admin staff.
  • Follow proper procedure, as outlined in the employee handbook, in the event of a conflict between staff members. Refrain from ‘gossip’ or discussion of the private matters of students, student’s families and/or staff members with students, parents, or other staff members.
  • All parent communication is to be completed or directed by admin staff only.
  • Be punctual and ready to work M-F, wearing appropriate attire.
  • Assist with arrival and dismissal, as directed by admin staff.
  • If an emergency call (pertaining to your immediate family) needs to be made or received, admin must be made aware and coverage for your class must be requested.
  • Ask for help when needed by text, walkie-talkie, intercom, or phone.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
