Duties Provide assistance to classroom teachers as they seek to provide children with a safe, welcoming, and high-quality learning environment Collaborate with their classroom teachers and the Divine Savior staff as a whole, to support their students and carry out their classroom tasks Supports the implementation of the planned curriculum and lessons Ensures that the classroom expectations are being followed consistently Follows all classroom and school procedures to ensure the safety of all students Observes student work and provides support as needed Redirects children’s behavior in order to increase attention and focus Supports children who are not comprehending lessons and guides them individually or in small groups Engages in appropriate and positive teacher-child interactions in the classroom Builds strong relationships with students, parents, families, and colleagues Contributes to team-building exercises with staff Requirements High School Diploma Early Childhood or Elementary Education coursework, training, or experience Communicates effectively, excellent interpersonal skills Collaborates with colleagues as a valuable member of the faculty team Demonstrates an energetic, positive attitude towards students and work Reliable, punctual, and motivated to complete tasks with excellent results Must align with our Statement of Faith and Staff Lifestyle Agreement Exemplary Christian role model who lets his or her “light shine” Physical Requirements Standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting up to 25-50 pounds, sitting for extended periods, and sometimes kneeling or crouching to assist students Fine motor skills to manipulate materials and assist students with tasks Reports to: Lead Teacher
