Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required. Our school serves children aged 18 months to 6 years old and is located in Downtown Miami. In a Montessori classroom the day is divided in in working time (where the children work with the different Montessori materials), playground time, lunch time, and circle time. The teacher usually works with one child at a time; and the assistants take care of the rest of classroom, aiding the children successfully achieve their lessons, and ensuring the wellbeing of the children during the day. The Assistant is also directly responsible for aiding the Teacher in preparing and maintaining the classroom environment. In your hands-on role as Classroom Assistant, you will help keep the classrooms running smoothly, maintain materials in the classroom, keep supplies stocked and help the lead teacher as directed to meet the needs of the classroom and the children. It is a great opportunity to learn about Montessori Education and work in a fun and welcoming environment. This position is full time. Compensation is hourly and is relative to experience.
