POSITION

: Teacher’s Assistant Specific Duties & Responsibilities 1. Report any accidents or unusual incidents to immediate supervisor, also reports signs of illness, injury or medications side effects. 2. Provide participants with materials, arts and crafts supplies, etc. 3. Assist participants in activity projects by hand over hand method and /or adaptive equipment if necessary. 4. Adheres to UCO disciplinary guidelines for extinguishing inappropriate behaviors. 5. Actively participates with child’s transition from classroom to after-school with positive and encouraging demeanor at all times and throughout the afternoon. 6. Utilize developmentally appropriate vocabulary and positive tone with children during activities. 7. Actively participates with children during group activities providing hand over hand assistance (singing, art, sensory, story, learning centers and outdoor play. 8. Carry out recreational/educational activities, utilizing technique and approach described by Site Coordinator. 9. During children’s snack, engage in child centered social interaction (Educational and Conversation) 10. Actively guide children’s individualized feeding program and utilize support feeding utensils. 11. Participates in lifts, positioning and transfer of children and implements toilet training schedule. 12. Changes diapers in accordance with schedule (after snack, nap, etc.) and as needed. 13. Adheres to UCO’s guidelines regarding diapering and infection control precautions. 14. Monitors children’s general health at all times, reporting concerns immediately to the Site Coordinator (i.e., vomiting, fever, seizures, etc.) 15. Provides feedback regarding children’s performance to the Site Coordinator. 16. Maintains cleanliness, order of classroom and materials (wipe tables, floor area, utensils, etc.) 17. Performs all behavioral management and disciplinary actions as outlined by UCO. 18. Maintains confidentiality with regard to children and families. 19. Uses and ensures developmentally appropriate vocabulary and positive tone with children during activities. 20. Use electronic devices to monitor child’s location and record parent sign in and out. 21. Performs other related duties as assigned. 22. Attend mandatory quarterly trainings as requested by supervisor- these trainings may occur on Saturday 23. Attends monthly staff meeting
