The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting external and internal communications, membership efforts, and office administration efforts to enhance the church’s in-reach to members and outreach to the community. This position requires strong social media engagement and organizational skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. The Program Assistant will assist the Minister and other staff with programming and administrative tasks, support the Communications Committee in its efforts to creates, maintains, and promotes messaging around the church’s activities and programming on social media platforms, as well as support the Membership Committee in its efforts to support current membership and to grow. Responsibilities Assist minister with daily administrative tasks, and assist the Director of Lifespan Religious Enrichment and Church Administrator periodically and as requested. Collaborate with the Communications Committee to coordinate social media postings for effective messaging and branding of church programs and ministries. Coordinate with membership committee members and assist as needed. Event promotion skills – publicity content, production and placement Manage weekly and monthly newsletters, event calendars Requirements Mastery of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky etc, and familiarity with NextDoor and other decentralized platforms Experience with Google software products including Google Workspace Experience and knowledge with online platforms and applications Knowledge of or ability to learn how to use Canva, Mailchimp and support applications, basic WordPress, Meta Business Portfolio, and management software CRM software, and project management experience Ability to manage a blog account Ability to write and edit for clarity Ability to organize records and information in an accessible and functional manner Ability to manage time to accomplish multiple objectives Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present a positive and welcoming presence Strong collaboration skills for working with staff and lay leadership Respect for Unitarian Universalist principles and values Knowledge and/or willingness to train on internet safety and information security Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
