We are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Van Driver and Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated and responsible individual to fulfill the dual role of Van Driver and Teacher Assistant. This position involves transporting students safely and providing support to teachers in the classroom. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient, and committed to creating a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Van Driver Responsibilities:

• Safely transport students to and from school and various field trips.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
• Maintain a clean and organized van interior and exterior.
• Follow all traffic laws and school district policies.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Provide assistance to students boarding and disembarking the vehicle, ensuring their safety at all times.

• Teacher Assistant Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher with instructional activities, including preparing materials and supporting individual and small group work.
• Help manage classroom behavior and create a positive, engaging environment for students.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times.
• Assist in the assessment and documentation of student progress and behaviors.
• Support students with special needs, as required, under the guidance of the teacher.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.

• Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in education or child development is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in a driving role, especially with children, is highly desirable.
• Experience in a classroom setting or working with children preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and families.
• Patience, compassion, and a genuine passion for working with children.

• Additional Requirements:

• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
