Position Overview Job Summary:

At Turtle Tots Academy, our Floater Teachers play a vital role in maintaining a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children of all ages. As a flexible team member, the Floater will support lead teachers and assistants across all classrooms as needed, ensuring continuity of care and curriculum throughout the day. The candidate must be passionate about early childhood education and meets the following requirements: Qualifications DCF 40-

Hour Training:

Candidates should have completed or be in the process of completing the 40-hour introductory child care training as mandated by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). This training must be initiated within the first 90 days of employment and completed within one year.

CDA Certification:

Candidates must have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or be willing to complete it within six months of hire.

Background Check:

Must pass a Level 2 background screening as required by Florida state regulations.

Experience:

Prior experience in a preschool setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills:

Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:

Assist lead and assistant teachers in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Flexible Coverage:

Provide coverage for teacher breaks, absences, or ratio support across multiple age groups and classrooms.

Child Supervision:

Actively engage with children to ensure their safety, well-being, and developmental growth at all times.

Transition Assistance:

Support smooth transitions between activities, including mealtime, nap time, indoor and outdoor play, and toileting/diapering routines.

Cleanliness & Sanitation:

Help maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom and common areas following health and safety guidelines.

Positive Interactions:

Foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment that supports the emotional and social development of all children.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with teachers, children, and parents as needed, maintaining a cooperative and team-focused approach.

Compliance:

Follow Turtle Tots Academy policies and licensing regulations regarding child care and safety protocols.

Professional Growth:

Participate in ongoing training, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities. Schedule Monday through Friday Specific hours to be determined Weekends off, except when mandatory meeting & training sessions are scheduled on Saturday.
