Full Job Description Key Responsibilities:

Carver Christian Academy•CCA Cooperate with CCA Teacher to deliver effective & transformative lessons Assist CCA Teacher to maintain classroom etiquette & discipline Review lessons or projects with students on a one-on-one basis or in small groups Provide one-on-one discipline or spiritual coaching to students, as required Work with individual students or groups of students that are falling behind or being disruptive in class During the Bible hour, teach Bible lessons and provide Biblical insight Collaborate with Teacher to identify student issues and recommend solutions Escort students to the bathroom or to the counseling office, Library or Dean/Principal’s office as requested Maintain order & discipline during student meal times & outside time Substitute for the CCA Teacher for particular classes as required by the daily schedule set by the Principal Assist Principal and Dean, or for temporary Teacher absences (you will only be required to perform a long term substitute teacher role under emergency circumstances) Assist the Teacher to evacuate the classroom or shelter-in-place during drills or a live emergency Driving for student transportation (over 25) and/or bus rider (under 25) Other duties as assigned by CCA Principal or CCA Dean The Leader Ship Academy•TLA Help develop and implement age-appropriate learning activities inside the classroom in Creative Arts, Fitness & Nutrition with a Biblical worldview and practical social interactions with peers and others Be the example with leadership and teach the students a health respect for authority Help provide and/or prepare for Bible/creative arts and sciences instruction including lessons, field trips and activities Help to engage students in “Experiencing Unexpected Pathways” (EUP’s) through a variety of avenues including fitness, sports, arts, sciences, technology, entertainment and music Ensure the safety of the students Have the ability to appropriately manage student behavior and discipline Work with CCA/TLA leadership to maintain contact with families regarding the student’s needs and progress Ensure that your classroom is kept orderly and clean on a daily basis Maintain attendance and performance records, and submit to the CCA/TLA leadership Attend program related meetings/conferences/workshops Assist with administrative, programmatic and transportation duties as needed Other duties may be assigned by the TLA Program Manager Participate in Summer Camp (KAA) and/or

Summer Programming Key Goals:

Youth are engaged & participative in both the

CCA & TLA

programs Youth show marked increase in character development and spiritual growth Youth increase in reading/literacy level, math scores and other academic benchmarks Classroom behavior is well managed All duties and administrative tasks completed on time

Qualifications:

2-year or 4-year degree or equivalent experience with youth preferred; reports to the Director of TLA and Discipleship; 25-hrs weekly (1:00pm•6:00pm) ; FLSA non exempt; applicant needs to have an understanding that UYI is primarily a faith-based organization. All applicants will be required to have a Level 2 Background Check; First-Aid/CPR Certification; Driver’s Physical if over the age of 25; all provided and paid for by Urban Youth Impact.
