The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children in our VPK program from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

• Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Early Childhood Education courses or certifications preferred Previous experience working with preschool-aged children preferred Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues Knowledge of basic child development principles 40 hours DCF training, plus 5 hours of literacy (or availability to complete them upon employment) CPR and First Aid certification preferred Ability to pass FBI Level II and DCF background checks •

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the VPK Director/Teacher Supervise and monitor children during VPK hours Implement age-appropriate activities Ensure the safety and well-being of all children Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s day Maintain a clean and organized classroom space Assist with snack time help as needed Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a positive aftercare experience •
