Follows the 170 day school calendar.
Hours:
8:00am
- 4:00pm (or as agreed with supervisor) with a 30 minute non-paid lunch. Our Mission Life Skills Academy is a private school serving grades Pre-K
- 12th. - Attending meetings and in-service as necessary, and becoming acquainted with philosophies, policies, procedures, equipment, and the classroom where assigned.
- Assist assigned teacher with preparing materials, grading papers, organizing the classroom and other similar tasks.
- Supervision and/or reinforcement of instruction of students in various situations and programs.
- Classroom assistance will be required when given a classroom or an extension of the classroom assignment.
- Assist students with and supervise their use of school technology.
- Provide coverage for absent teachers, paras, or other school staff when requested.
- Assist teacher with end-of-day cleanup and organization of the classroom
- Other duties may require cleaning the classroom and campus, providing health care or toileting assistance to students, interpretation of speech and/or languages, operation of adaptive equipment, and physical assistance to impaired students. Work Context
- Requires sitting, standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work.
- Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as computers, software, electronic mail, and telephones.
- Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines.
- Requires face-to-face virtual discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams.
- Requires work with students, internal and external contacts, parents, and with the public. Physical Environment
- Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions, and outdoors for dining and some classes.
- Requires sitting, standing and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects frequently weighing up to 20 pounds and occasionally weighing more than 20 pounds.
