Position:

Substitute Teacher (Talent Pool) The Extended Care Assistant helps provide a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered environment for students participating in the school’s after-school care program. This role involves supervising students, organizing age-appropriate activities, assisting with snacks, and ensuring students are cared for in a manner consistent with the school’s Christian mission. Responsibilities Supervise students during after school care hours, ensuring their safety and well-being. Organize and lead recreational and quiet-time activities for students. Assist with check-in and check-out procedures for students and parents. Provide snacks and ensure proper hygiene (e.g., handwashing). Maintain discipline and structure using positive behavior management techniques. Build relationships with students and families while modeling Christian values. Clean and organize activity areas, toys, and supplies. Report any incidents, concerns, or injuries to the Extended Care Coordinator or school administration. Uphold all school policies and procedures, including child safety guidelines. Qualifications Commitment to Sunlight Christian Academy’s mission and Christian values. High school diploma or equivalent required; experience working with children preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a team. Ability to supervise and engage students in a positive, Christ-like manner.
