Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan both long-and short-range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy. Classroom teaching involves explaining an activity, engaging children in the activity, and supervising their work (i.e. standing, walking, bending, or squatting) Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child. Encourage assistants to contribute to curriculum planning. Coordinate field trips. Turn in weekly lesson plans for review (lesson plans are due in advance) Prepare monthly plan charts. Diapering and assist children with toileting and self-care needs. Complete assessment of children’s development. Report progress of children to parents and through parent-teacher conferences and progress reports. Maintain daily open communication with parents. Complete incident/accident reports and submit them to the office. Maintain anecdotal records. Maintain confidentiality. Report any suspected abuse to supervisor. Arrange a classroom environment in accordance with program goals and philosophy. Maintain a safe and healthy environment. Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials. Supervise assistants, aides, and volunteers in the classroom. Keep all appropriate viable paperwork for licensing regulations. Lifting and carrying children. General cleaning and sanitation, including but not limited to, sweep, mop, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, and taking the trash out. Lifting or moving equipment such as cots, shelves, tables, chairs, and cubbies. We are most interested in applicants with the following: Current Level 2 background screening or willingness to get. Wllingness to get required state training hours completed. 18 years of age or older. Pay is based on experience.
