- School Year Seasonal Part-time Position (FLSA Class is Non-Exempt)
- Averaging 15-20 hours per week when school is in session.
- Required hours: typically, Monday-Friday, 3:00p-7:00p, in conjunction with Catoosa County Public School Calendar
- Some evening, weekend, or out-of-school holiday hours may be available.
- Hours begin in late July or first week of August 2025, position wraps up the last week of May 2026.
- Starting pay is $15-17 per hour depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities The following key responsibilities are provided for illustration only and may include other reasonable tasks as assigned for the good of LIFT Youth Center. As a nonprofit, community service organization, LIFT relies heavily on fundraising to support the wide range of programs we provide the community we serve. Our expectation is that all staff will promote participation in fundraising efforts and community events in some capacity. Act as a role model by your actions in both your professional and private life. Maintain confidentiality of attendees, employees, donors/supporters, and organization information. Arrive for scheduled workday on time and set an example for volunteers to follow. Ensure that the personal timesheet is completed accurately and turned in on time. Set an example by not using your cell phone for personal use while actively engaged with participants. Maintain a professional appearance and conduct business always using excellent customer service skills. Build lasting relationships with students and families. Aid in ensuring a safe, friendly, and supportive environment for students and their families. Aid in regular care of the Youth Center and its equipment. Manage conflict, problems, and emergencies; analyze situations and draw reliable conclusions; taking appropriate action without waiting for direction when appropriate and adequate. Participate in LIFT Staff Meetings and Staff Retreats whenever possible. Attend LIFT events, trainings, and functions as able. General Afterschool Program Supervision Aid in management of Youth Center daily hours of operation and help build positive student connections. Ensure that any assigned volunteers have appropriate and fulfilling assignments during Youth Center daily hours. Aid in ensuring that program standards are met, and safety procedures are followed during daily hours. Be a Mandated Reporter and advise volunteers of requirements. Report any suspected abuse immediately. Aid in collecting and recording evaluation data to monitor programming effectiveness. Aid in record keeping
- including activities and events conducted, breakdown of daily participation, notable achievements, and any problem/issues, i.
e. accident reports, incident reports, etc. Ensure programs/activities respond to member needs; address their physical, gender and cultural diversity. Engage with students during free time by playing games or having conversations to build trusted relationships and foster a positive environment. Utilize behavior management techniques in the classroom by upholding LIFT Youth Center’s Safe Space policy and by issuing warnings to students who do not meet behavior expectations. Safely transport students to LIFT Youth Center from school and from LIFT Youth Center to their homes, in a LIFT van, ensuring punctuality and adherence to all traffic and safety regulations. REACH Workshop Teacher Lead high-quality workshops during after-school hours at the Center, focusing on REACH program areas: Recreation, Education, Art, Community, and Health. Programmatic assignments will align with individual skill sets and will be scheduled 2-4 weeks in advance with the Program Coordinator. Develop and prepare lesson plans and projects designed to meet specific learning objectives, ensuring clear communication of goals to participants. Collaborate with Program Staff to create detailed logistics and lesson plans for workshop sessions, while managing preparation, evaluation, and documentation of these plans. Position Requirements Education and Experience A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Work experience with 6-12 graders in a related field is required

Skills and Abilities Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse racial, educational, socioeconomic, sexual/gender identity, and cultural backgrounds. Evidence of skills relevant to lead learning activities
- such as teaching skills, behavior management, creativity, flexibility, and an understanding of adjusting for different ages, interests, and abilities.
Demonstrate ability to motivate volunteers, build team cohesion, and hold others accountable to expectations. Excellent organizational skills, such as time and project management and prioritizing. Bring a fun, energetic, and relatable presence to connect with middle and high school students, creating a welcoming and positive atmosphere at LIFT Youth Center. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with all levels of fellow employees, management, student participants, and parents. Group leadership skills, including and understanding of group dynamics. Ability and willingness to be a positive, contributing, and adaptable member of the LIFT team at all times. Certifications, Clearances and Availability Must have current certification in CPR/First Aid (or be willing to become certified). Must provide a valid driver’s license and employment eligibility verification information in accordance with the I-9 form such as Social Security Card. With your Valid Driver’s License, you must have the ability/comfort to drive a 15-person van of students. Must pass a national criminal background check and NOT be listed in the sex offender registry. Must take and pass a drug test and comply with a “Drug Free” policy, including random tests. Reliable transportation to and from work to program locations, and for activities such as meetings, events, and training in and out of the area. Must be willing and available to work specifically from 3-7pm on school days. Physical Requirements Ability to adapt to inclement weather conditions and/or situations. Ability to move quickly across a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces. Ability to participate in typical youth games and activities; watch and listen to the activities of a group of students. Ability to bend and lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work effectively under stress, within deadlines, and in emergency situations.
